Abstract : This paper introduces the situation of the convergence on new Japanese standards for welding material of low alloy heat-resistant steel and flux for submerged arc welding(SAW) to international standards(ISO). Heat-resistant steel welding materials include electrode, flux-cored wire, filler wire and solid wire used for SMAW, MAC welding, MIG welding, TIG welding and SAW. Flux for SAW is applied for welded joints and surfacing in low-carbon steel, high-strength steel, chrome-molybdenum steel,low-temperature steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant steel, nickel and nickel alloy and etc. Surfacing includes wire-surfacing and strip-surfacing, whose cladding layers are used for wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
